Where Blue and Gold become Green

The UNCG Definition of Sustainability

Sustainability is the enduring interconnectedness of social equity, the environment, economy, and aesthetics. This interconnectedness provides a foundation from which to discover, implement, and enrich sustainable principles and practice. The intent of sustainability is to instill values that promote justice, invent innovative approaches and solutions to environmental and economic challenges, and instill civility and grace into our communities.

Please join us on February 28, 2019 when UNCG hosts the mid-year meeting of the Appalachian Energy Summit.

The mid-year meeting of this important gathering provides an opportunity for academia, industry, and students to catch up on important developments between the three-day, summer summits.

The event is free and open to the public. All campus and community members are invited to mark their morning calendar for exciting speakers and stay for the networking lunch.

Registration will open closer to the date of the event.

Examples of past speakers and agendas for both the summer and mid-year summits can be found here.

UNCG faculty considering the summit as extra credit for Spring courses are encouraged to contact the Sustainability Office with any questions!

We look forward to introducing folks to
